Ecosphere is the answer

by on June 04,2023

Today, more than ever, one workforce and human capital solution is simply not enough. Growth and sustainability at a cost-efficient rate is imperative if that is what we want to do—grow and be sustainable.

Below, I'll break down just a few of the majorly important verticals, and highlight their outcomes, to illustrate why ecosystem, and as we prefer to call it, ecosphere, an extended and all-encompassing ecosystem, is the only real answer.

Direct sourcing:

Yes, great for driving additional skills and maximizing internal workforce but definitely not a total talent strategy all on its own.

It can be cost effective and cost and risk inefficient but either way, it’s a valuable and necessary strategy to maximize current workforce.

External sourcing:

A great way to get people to enter your organization from the outside and augment and add to your current workforce but also not enough on its own.

Can be cost efficient and expensive at times, but a necessary solution for agility, augmentation, risk, innovation, mobility, varied skill sets, and more.

AI:

Helpful and an assistant for now but again—not enough on its own.

An additional cost and significant investment is needed to leverage these resources, but the addition of efficiency and resources to get the work at hand done are invaluable.

Tech and Digital:

Enablers of automation and communication and excellent for capturing and driving intelligence that informs so much but also not enough on its own.

Significant investment cost, maintenance and implementation is needed even for cloud systems but the benefits of streamlined communication and systemization across geographies is a must-have.

Skilling:

Yes please. Opening up additional skill sets within the current workforce is a sure way to maximize worker output.

Time and cost intensive and takes work, but frankly, it needs to be done not just for supply but for worker earnings and economic advantage, as well.

Community:

Of course. Nothing works if people and resources aren't managed, engaged, and taken care of.

Time and cost intensive, but support and nurturing workforce along their personal and professional journeys is what's needed to drive favorable outcomes and to develop and grow a happy, healthy workforce and thriving, sustainable economy.

Ecosphere is the answer

It takes an ecosystem and more to really drive the kind of supply that’s not just needed now but will be needed as we move further into the future. Understanding and delivering this is at the core of what we do @Mothership.

We’ve been told to focus on a vertical or a skill set or one solution when really what we are doing is working to solve the whole problem and not just sell a portion of solving the problem as though it’s the holy grail to all our client and talent problems.

We’re focused on solving the real problem: supply will not satisfy demand—it’s not doing so now in various verticals, and it will only get harder as we grow. There simply aren’t enough people in the world with all the skill sets we need to do the jobs needed. It’s just that simple.

Coming together to make this not a reality is what’s needed and the sooner we all get on the same page the better off we’ll be.

This isn’t about AI taking our jobs—we would have to pump out AI resources at a massive rate to fuel our economies at scale. This isn’t about humans doing it all either. It’s about the work we have now and ahead of us and getting it done.

The only way is by coming together. Humans should share knowledge with machines so they can yes—learn to do our jobs and we will in turn do the same jobs and other jobs alongside and while being enabled by the new resources we have built.

This is the path--the only path--to building and creating more together than we ever dreamed possible.
